Bio
Life can be rough. Let's acknowledge that, and then learn how to push through together. There are times we can feel at the bottom of the pit. I want to understand what brought you there, and help you use your own skills to climb out. I offer a space for you to just be you, as well as a space for processing, building ability, and self-exploration. We can overcome, and no situation is too dire.
My role in therapy is to be there alongside you as we discuss what is going on. I believe we all have inner strengths, and that there are periods where we do not feel them. Together we will work to find what works best for you — acknowledging the issues, accepting what is going on, and learning how to adjust while keeping respect for your own morals, values, and beliefs.
I am one of those people who has known what they wanted to do since they were young. I grew up in a household with a therapist for a mother, which meant I always had support in my life. I realized as I got older that not everybody has emotional support or comes from a loving environment. My purpose is to help others when life becomes too much, or when someone needs a non-judgmental space to process the never-ending hurdles.
I attended Oklahoma State University and received my B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Mental Health Counseling before moving back to Texas. I was the clinical intern at OSU working with college students in individual and group counseling. I then worked at Counseling and Behavioral Specialists of Oklahoma with the autistic population and their families — one of the best jobs I have ever had, and where I learned about adversity, family systems, and the capacity for growth in others. I moved into private practice at Integrated Therapy Solutions working mostly with adults on anxiety, depression, and mood concerns, and later worked at Grace Counseling in Fort Worth in an intensive outpatient setting, learning about the effects of substance use.
I love being a therapist. I enjoy the chance to meet new people and learn their story. Every single person I meet has inner strength, and I get to help them identify, unlock, or strengthen it. Everyone who comes to counseling comes for a reason, and I applaud that person for wanting to better themselves.
