Who we help
What people come to us with.
Trauma-informed therapy in Colleyville, Fort Worth, and online anywhere in Texas — for adults, teens, and children from age nine.
Where to start
You don’t need a diagnosis to book.
Most people arrive with a description rather than a label — “I can’t switch off,” “we keep having the same fight,” “something happened and I’m not over it.” That’s enough to start with. Below is what we work with most often; if what’s going on isn’t on the list, tell us anyway and we’ll either help or point you to someone who can.
Trauma & PTSD
Something happened, and part of you is still living inside it — the flinch, the sleeplessness, the sense of being braced for something. It doesn’t have to be one large event; years of small ones count too. Trauma work here begins with steadiness and safety, not with the story, and you set the pace throughout.
EMDR
EMDR uses guided attention — often side-to-side eye movements or gentle tapping — while you briefly bring a memory to mind. You don’t have to describe every detail of what happened, or relive it start to finish. For a lot of people that is exactly why EMDR is bearable when talking about it never was.
DBT skills
For feelings that arrive at full volume — the anger that’s out of the room before you decided anything, the urge to burn it all down, the crash afterwards. DBT is practical and skills-based: how to ride out a moment without making it worse, steady the swings, and ask for what you need without a fight. You practice it until it’s yours.
Polyvagal & body-based work
Sometimes the body reacts before you’ve decided anything — the racing heart with no thought attached, the shutdown where you go flat and far away, the being wired and exhausted at once. This work treats those as a nervous system doing its job, not a character flaw, and teaches you to read your own signals and come back down.
Anxiety & panic
The mind that won’t stop running the same loop. Chest tight before the meeting, the 3am inventory of everything that could go wrong, the panic that arrives with no warning at all. We work on both ends: what calms the body now, and what is keeping the alarm switched on.
Depression & burnout
Not always sadness. Often it’s flatness, the effort everything takes, the sense that you’re performing a version of yourself that used to be automatic. We look at what drained the tank as well as how to start filling it.
Grief & loss
A death, a diagnosis, a marriage, a move, a version of your life that isn’t happening now. Grief has no schedule and doesn’t much care what anyone expects of it. This is a place to put it down without managing how someone else takes it.
Couples & marriage
The same argument on a loop, or a quiet that has gone on too long. Our couples work is Gottman-trained: less refereeing, more understanding what keeps happening between you and what to do differently in the moment it starts.
Children & teens
From age nine upward. Younger clients often show what they can’t yet say, so our work with them uses sandtray, play and expressive arts alongside conversation. Parents are part of it — your therapist will be clear about when and how.
ADHD & autism
Neurodivergent-affirming, which means the goal is not to make you look more typical. It’s to understand how your brain actually works, build around it, and deal with what a lifetime of being told to try harder has cost. Gifted and sensory profiles included.
Cultural identity & belonging
Living between cultures, family expectations that don’t translate, the exhaustion of explaining yourself. Between us we work in Spanish, Arabic, Korean and Mandarin, and several of our therapists have done this navigating themselves.
LGBTQIA+ affirming
It means you won’t spend your sessions educating your therapist or defending your own life. Come for what you came for — the anxiety, the family, and the potential grief from living authentically.
Our specialty
Trauma-informed before anything else.
It’s the thread through the whole practice. In practice it means nobody will rush you. You decide what you talk about and when — and if something becomes too much, you stop. That’s a normal part of the work, not a setback.
Several of our clinicians are EMDR-trained, in person and online. Each therapist’s page says whether they offer it.
Children, teens and adults, with sandtray and expressive arts for younger clients.
Between us we work in Spanish, Arabic, Korean and Mandarin, alongside English.
If you’re not sure
Tell us what’s going on and we’ll match you.
You don’t have to work out which therapist fits, or which of the above your situation belongs under. Describe it in your own words when you reach out — we’ll take it from there, and if someone here is a better fit than the person you asked for, we’ll say so.
Whatever brought you here, it counts.
One short form, and a real person on the other end.
