Bryan Tzeng, MA, LPC-S
“Supporting individuals who struggle with feelings of shame, guiding them toward letting go of those emotions or finding a path to acceptance.”
Bio
I started my journey when a teacher told me: "No one has the right to minimize your feelings. To one person, failing their algebra test might be the worst day of their lives; to another, it might be losing their grandfather. No matter what others may say or think, no one has the authority to tell you how you should feel." These are the words I live by and bring into every session. I lend an empathetic ear to those whose voices and feelings are neglected.
I help clients work through shame, anxiety, depression, and trauma using EMDR, trauma-focused, and person-centered approaches. As an LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and multiculturally sensitive therapist, I create a space where you can be fully yourself, explore what is holding you back, and move toward acceptance and authentic living.
I graduated from University of North Texas and received my M.A. in Professional Counseling at Texas Wesleyan University. I began as a clinical intern at the Children's Advocacy Center for Denton County, working with children who had experienced physical and sexual abuse in individual, play, and group therapy. I have since worked in behavioral health hospitals and at Ranch Hands Rescue, a non-profit supporting people through various traumas. Through Texas Wesleyan and my professors Dr. Linda Metcalf and Dr. Edita Ruzgyte, I trained abroad in China, London, and Australia in couples, solution-focused, narrative, and sex therapy.
Today I own Zen Life Counseling, and I see clients in Colleyville, Fort Worth, and online across Texas. As an LPC-Supervisor, I also supervise our LPC Associates.
