Nigel d'souza (he/him), Ms, LPC
-fort worth & colleyville offices-
I am one of those people that has known what they have wanted to do since they were young. I grew up in a household with a therapist for a mother, meaning, I always had support in my life. I quickly realized as I aged that not everybody has emotional support or comes from a loving environment. My purpose in life is to aide others when life becomes too much, or when a person needs a non-judgmental space to process the never-ending hurdles. I attended Oklahoma State University and received my B.S in Psychology and M.S in Mental Health Counseling before moving back to Texas to work with individuals throughout the DFW metroplex.
After obtaining my master’s degree, I was blessed to have worked in various mental health fields as I feel that allows me to work with people who present diverse issues. During my time at Oklahoma State University, I became the clinical intern at the University working with individuals and group counseling of college students. My next job was at Counseling and Behavioral Specialists of Oklahoma working with the Autism population, working with different levels of behavioral issues and families. This was one of the best jobs I ever had which allowed me to learn all about adversity, family systems, and ability of growth in others. I then transitioned to more of a private practice role at Integrated Therapy solutions working mostly with adults with a focus on processing anxiety, depression, and various mood/personality disorders. I moved to Fort Worth, Texas and worked at Grace counseling learning about the effects of substance abuse; getting the opportunity to work at an intensive outpatient facility. I love being a therapist, I enjoy the chance to work with new people and learn their story. Every single person I meet has inner strength, and I get to help that person identify, unlock, or strengthen theirs. Every person that comes to counseling, comes for a reason, and I applaud that person for wanting to better themselves. |
