What is a typical session like?
We are all unique and have our own quirks and eccentricities. We mustn't allow anyone to judge or diminish the feelings that we hold because just as we have freedom of speech, we deserve a freedom to feel however we wish. I will lend an empathetic ear without judgement and work together to find what you wish to accomplish in therapy, and then focus on your strengths instead of your nitpicking your weaknesses. I believe that negative talk only undermines our accomplishment and I encourage searching for the positives and the special strengths unique to each client. We have enough people telling us why we can't do something, my job is to help you realize that you can.
Does going to therapy mean I'm "crazy" or "flawed"?
No, of course not! We all endure adversities throughout our lives, and occasionally, we just need a little extra help. Most individuals who attend therapy struggle through everyday circumstances such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.
